A-502 - Detachment A-502 - Vietnam       A-502 - Detachment A-502 - Vietnam

This map clearly shows  the Nha Trang Valley running from the western mountains to the South China Sea.  Due to the valley's strategic value as an infiltration route for enemy units, an outpost, My Loc, was located west of A-502's main base which occupied the southern portion of an old French Fort near the Vietnamese village of Dien Khanh.  My Loc, which had originally been constructed by the team's South Korean allies, was affectionately known as "The Rock Pile."

My Loc and A-502's other outposts and its main base at Camp Trung Dung can be seen on the TD & Outposts map page.
