The road and train tracks
north to Nha Trang and points further north are very clearly visible on this
map. A-502 was responsible for keeping both the road and train tracks clear.
There were several incidents involving the team's effort to complete that assignment.
Hon Tre Island is also visible in the upper right hand corner of this map. A-502's responsibilites did not end at water's edge. The team was sent to Hon Tre Island on at least one occasion. A closer view of the island and discussion of one operation can be seen on the Hon Tre map. A-502's AO was large and full of targets that were important to enemy units. In order to cover its AO effectively, the team established a network of outposts. A-502's base, Trung Dung, and outposts are located with map pins on the TD & Outposts map page. |
